The Diet Pill War - Alli Vs Hoodia
Wow! There certainly been a lot of buzz about Alli lately, the marketing campaign for this product has been huge!! TV commercials, Massive displays at WalMart, Costco and leading retailers. This would lead any thinking person to believe that Alli is the most effective weight loss pill on the market to date!!
But… I have a few problems with Alli, One, according to the Alli own studies the actual weight loss from this product isn’t that great:
“research showed that people taking orlistat(Alli) and following low-fat diets lost almost five percent of their initial body weight, about seven to15 pounds, over four months,”
… and Two, the list of side effects!! Just read the following:
- Abdominal discomfort or pain
- Anxiety
- Arthritis
- Back pain
- Diarrhea, generally mild and goes away
- Dizziness
- Earache
- Fatigue
- Fatty or oily stools - 20% of patients
- Fecal urgency or incontinence - 22.1% of patients
- Flu
- Gas with fecal discharge, generally mild and goes away - 23.9% of patients
- Gum problems
- Headache
- Increased defecation
- Incontinence (fecal) - 7.7% of patients
- leaky stools in some patients temporarily
- Menstrual problems
- Muscle pain
- Nausea
- Rectal discomfort or pain
- Respiratory tract infections
- Skin rash
- Sleep problems
- Stomach cramps
- Tooth problems
- Urgency to have a bowel movement
- Urinary tract infections
- Vaginal inflammation
- Vomiting
- Less common side effects may include dry skin, ear/nose/throat problems and joint disorders.
- Side effects that usually occur after the first year of treatment include depression, leg pain, swollen feet and tendonitis.
Sounds safe and Natural to me!? With all these risks, I can’t imagine why anyone would even try Alli.
The truth is there are already products on the market that are more affective, 100% Natural and FREE of side effects and that product ladies and gentlemen would be HOODIA!!!
Hoodia Case Studies
Research conducted by scientists at the South African Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research showed the Hoodia gordonii cactus contains a miracle molecule that kills the appetite and attacks obesity, is organic, with no chemicals added and no known side effects.
The previously unknown magic molecule was named P.57.
This was followed by the first human clinical trial conducted by Phytopharm in which a group of morbidly obese men and women was chosen from Leicester, England, and placed in a “phase 1 unit”, a place as close to prison as it gets. All the volunteers could do was read, watch television — and eat. Half the group were given Hoodia and half were given a placebo. At the end of 15 days, the group on Hoodia had reduced their food intake by 1000 calories a day. Given the average daily diet is around 2200 calories, this was a stunning success.
More recently, in two double-blind studies (the only proof accepted by the established scientific community) lean and obese laboratory rats were given Hoodia which strongly suppressed their appetites and caused major weight loss in the obese rats and moderate appetite suppression and weight loss in the lean rats. Hoodia also induced a modest drop in the rats’ blood sugar levels, and no adverse side effects were reported.
So how does HOODIA work?
The chemical constituents in Hoodia Gordonii work within the satiety center by releasing a chemical compound similar to glucose but much stronger. The hypothalamus receives this signal as an indication that enough food has been consumed and this in turn shunts the appetite. Hoodia Gordonii contains a unique molecule that works as a natural appetite suppressant. Taking Hoodia Gordonii when you are hungry can alleviate the feeling of hunger and so make you less likely to snack between meals due to hunger. When taking Hoodia Gordonii before a meal, even a small meal can leave you feeling more satisfied, which encourages you to eat smaller meals. Hoodia simply takes away your craving for food instantly.
Which Brand of Hoodia?
There are a lot of brands of Hoodia on the market but I personally suggest HoodiaStar because they are the number one selling hoodia product in America, there product has a Satisfaction Guarantee and there also have $1 risk FREE trial offer.
If you are considering trying Alli I would strongly suggest you try HoodiaStar first. If not for the benefits, then atleast for the share of your wallet.
