What do you reach for first when you are needing a little snack? French fries or ice cream? What if you are trying to eat healthier? Finding snacks that are hearty and that taste good can be a big challenge, especially if your go-to snacks are those that are loaded with salt or sugar. Keep reading to find out how to make snacks that are nutritious and that satisfy your cravings. The following snacks are healthy for you and won’t hinder your weight watching endeavors. Skeptical? Keep reading!

Tasty Dipped Pretzels make a terrific snack without making you feel like you are restricting yourself in terms of portion size or denying yourself some of your favorite tastes. Melt one half cup of semi sweet chocolate on the stove until it is just melted. It takes about two minutes to do this and make sure you stir it up really well before you try to use it. Next, dip low-sodium pretzels into the chocolate until they are coated and then lay them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet in a single layer. Let the pretzels cool totally at room temperature or let them sit in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.

Tasty Tortilla Chips are a great snack that you can put together at home without a lot of work. Tortilla chips, when you get them from the grocery store, are commonly loaded down with an insane amount of salt and aren’t actually very good for you. For this healthy recipe, you’ll be using corn tortillas to create your own chips. Use at least ten corn tortillas and slice them six parts. Place the corn tortilla pieces onto a baking sheet and spray them lightly with a spray you can put together yourself by combining canola oil and a quarter of a teaspoon of chili powder, half a teaspoon of cumin and a fourth of a teaspoon of sea salt. Make sure each piece is coated with the mixture and then bake the lot at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Let them cool entirely before eating them.

Try cooking delicious caramel corn! You are probably thinking that caramel corn is a snack you simply can’t eat thanks to the sky-high sugar and calorie count. Check out this (much better) recipe instead. In a large pot, melt two tablespoons of butter and then mix in 2 tablespoonfuls of brown sugar, a tablespoonful of water and a fourth of a teaspoon of kosher salt. Try to use whisk to blend it all together and then pour around seven cups of air popped popcorn. If you love lightly salted peanuts, add about an ounce of those too. Mix everything together until the popcorn (and peanuts) is coated equally and then let it cool before you eat it.

If you don’t mind performing some research, you can find several snack recipes that are low on unhealthy ingredients, have fewer calories but that still taste extremely good. There are many fantastic tasting selections for snacks that are both healthy and delicious. You only need to be diligent enough to locate them and make them for yourself. Being healthy doesn’t need to be difficult. Being healthy completely achievable!

Healthy Snacks For Weight Loss Are Easy

Snacking is not as bad as you may think and hear on television. There are healthy snacks for weight loss that a person can enjoy. Most doctors and fitness trainers recommend a person have something to eat every couple of hours throughout the day. Eating every two to three hours, keeps a persons blood sugar level more stable throughout the day. If a person snacks a little at a time, they are not famished when a meal is served like lunch or dinner. They tend to not overeat with huge portions. This action alone will lower their calorie intake. Remember to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume.

Selecting the right type of snack is goal number one. Snacks should be high in fiber. It will take them longer to digest. The foods will tend to stick to your ribs and you will feel satisfied longer. These foods are not full of processed chemicals. They are more natural.

Good snacks are very easy to find such as a bowl of oatmeal, a blueberry oat bran muffin or fruits and vegetables. Other good snack options would be cheese, eggs, chicken and fish. Nuts are a great choice. Remember with nuts, the higher amount of fat in the nuts will make you feel fuller longer.

Be aware though nuts can be high in calories. Check the calorie count and watch your portion sizes. It is very easy to sit and snack on nuts one after the other and not realize how many you actually consumed. Peanuts for example are approximately one hundred and seventy calories for one quarter of a cup.

Do not choose snacks that are high in calories like candy bars, cookies or chips. Also snacks that are high in carbohydrates such as pretzels and bagels are not a very good choice. These type of snack foods do not stay with a person long. You will be feeling hungry quickly after consuming these. They are not good for you. If you must try the snack, go moderately and do not over do it. Sample the treat and move on to healthier options.

Snacking the right way is the way to lose weight. Choose foods that are natural and good for you. Do not choose snacks that are high in sugar and calories. Snacking throughout the day is a better way to eat than sitting down to three meals per day. By grazing, a person will control the urge to splurge at the dinner table.
